Hometown Half Marathon

I'm hooked, I'll admit it.

I ran Half Marathon The Second, in the form of the Great Scottish Run, on Sunday. I'm sick, and addicted, and I kind of like it.

It was ace, it was a fabulous route, apart from the fucking brutal hills at St. Vincent Street at the beginning, and most of Pollok Park (apparently that park is ALL hills), it was lovely. The weather was ideal too, cool and cloudy and only a little breezy. I didn't even get a stitch once, which amazes me!

My time was 2:04:23, a full 3 minutes and 6 seconds faster than my Edinburgh Half time. I wasn't especially looking to beat it (LIES!), but I'm so happy I did. I never thought that the time it takes to make a cup of tea would be so very important to me.

I managed to raise £280 for The Scottish Association for Mental Health, and I was really pleased to wear my running vest and represent them. I'm also hugely grateful to my friends for sponsoring me, who knew they were such a generous bunch!

Obligatory, slightly fucked looking photo at the end, with my lovely friend Jillian who was running for SANDS, the stillbirth charity. We're both smiling, which is the main thing!
