Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I did my first day at the Science Festival! What a wally!
It was a really, really great day. Short, but awesome, and what a brilliant bunch of folk to be working with, enthusiasm really is contagious. There's nothing quite like being thoroughly silly in the name of science. I know it's going to be a tough couple of weeks (I have a lot of respect for the full-timers, man alive) but it's totally worth it.
There are so many other exciting opportunities that seem to come from working at the Festival, which is truly impressive. I mean, working there is an exciting opportunity in itself, but there are further training courses, other festivals and loads of outreach. Working somewhere that really, really promotes this level of excitement and enthusiasm for science and the future of scientific development is huge. I am all a-squee at the mere thought of it.
