Today I went to the launch of an exciting new company, The Glasgow Stationery Company, it was lovely and civilised and involved seriously tasty cake, fabulous coffee and some excellent Christmas tunes. I'll be getting my Christmas cards from these guys, you should too!
This is what I'm still enjoying about being back, the fact that there's always something going on. Local businesses did crop up in Lancaster (try Trug on Etsy for some fabulous Christmas gift ideas) but there just wasn't as much stuff happening or options for things to do. I've been to one film screening/live music do, one business launch and I've been able to eat whatever cuisine I fancy (Japanese and German respectively) and go to free exhibitions at the merest whim. And I've only been back two weeks! I've also been able to buy what I need, when I needed it, without having to go on day trips to anywhere. And there's still a million and one things I still want to do.
That's why I'm glad to be back, and being back without any responsibilities to anyone else is an odd kind of bonus. It's not what I wanted, but I might as well make the most of my circumstances!
