I am about to embark on a shiny new craft adventure. No, not crochet, I'm not quite there yet. I'm going to try my hand at dressmaking. I have a sewing machine, a free pattern, fearsomely sharp scissors and the fabric.

It's a light blue, burgundy and cream paisley printed cotton. I shall be making dress A which has a scoop neck and a nice shape to it. It's almost identical to a dress I tried on in New Look but cost £30 and didn't actually fit properly. The fabric and pattern cost me £20, I know I'll need to spend time and effort on this, but I still saved £10 and will learn some useful new skills for the zombie apocalypse.

I'm also barrelling through my Rondeur jumper, I'm at the inch of twisted rib for the bottom hem. The raglan shaping on the yoke looks really smart and will be set off very nicely by a white t-shirt underneath.

I'm going to make it a long-sleeved jumper. Given that it was midsummer yesterday and I walked back from work in the rain, I think I'll get more use out of it with full-length sleeves! I've also had to knit it a full size smaller than the first two jumpers I've made thanks to losing over a stone. I had to buy a new pair of work trousers in a size 10 last week. I had an identical pair in a size 12 but they're constantly on the verge of auto-depantsing now, so for everyone's sake I went down a size!
I had a horrible night at work (the worst I've had that didn't involve customers) last night so I'm pretty much refusing to get up, get dressed or do anything other than drink tea and knit. 3 of the 6 projectors decided to misbehave, and the most complicated (that I don't really know how to fix) one acted up twice. I ended up getting the last film started and then gave up and sat down where I'd been standing in the middle of the projection booth! It really was all I was capable of at that point.
