After trying 8 or 9 times, and failing each time, to book train tickets online, I was doing some Googling this morning trying to find travel agents that would book us train tickets in person.
I found a website that we'd tried to use when we were going to Goa, but hadn't because the trains were booked solid and we'd gone with a bus company instead. On a whim I plugged in the train details that we wanted, and there were seats available on the Mysore Express. I got taken to a booking page, which is where it normally all goes wrong and the website can't take foreign cards.
I went to pay for the tickets that we may or may not have been able to buy, bunged in my card details and was taken to the Santander Secure Payment page. This is WAY further than we'd ever gotten before with paying online, so I was quite excited and hopeful about the whole business. Entered the relevant details and ACTUALLY MANAGED TO BUY TRAIN TICKETS!
WE ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO MYSORE! Thanks, Internet! Thanks, ClearTrip! I am a very happy bunny. After dreading the thought of a. having to find a rickshaw and b. work out where the hell we need to buy the tickets, we did it without having to leave the room. I'm pretty tired, so the thought of spending an afternoon being looked at like a mental wasn't really very thrilling.
The latter is due to the fact that I didn't get to sleep till 5am on Friday (thanks Ollie) and was woken up by someone crashing around at 8am on Saturday, and then didn't sleep until 2am last night, and then got woken up by someone loudly and repeatedly slamming their door and bolts shut at 7.30am. Sleep is nice, but it's not the sort of thing that happens here!
Also, more knitting triumph, I managed to cast on my first sleeve today and knitted a surprising amount of it.
